When temperatures rise, at Elorah we do everything we can to ensure children have a fun, safe, and comfortable day. Our pedagogical professionals adapt the daily program to the temperature and provide extra cooling. In warm weather, we take extra measures to protect children effectively from the heat. This allows children to play and explore together to their heart's content, even on hot days.
Sun protection
On sunny days, we follow the principle of apply sunscreen, wear clothes, and avoid the sun.
- We regularly apply sunscreen to children.
- We play in the shade as much as possible and avoid the bright midday sun where possible.
- Keep babies out of direct sunlight.
- Lightweight clothing and a cap or hat offer extra protection. Does your child have a cap or hat? Then feel free to bring it along.
- Do you apply plenty of sunscreen to your child in the morning? That way, your child is immediately well protected from the sun.
Cooling off and water fun
During hot days, we regularly offer children water and adapt the activities. We opt more often for quiet games and activities, seek out the shade, and, of course, provide opportunities to cool down. Think of water games or other refreshing activities suitable for the weather.
Comfortable indoors and while sleeping
We also keep a close eye on the temperature indoors. We ventilate, use sun blinds, and turn on the air conditioning where possible. While sleeping, we ensure the coolest possible sleeping environment and adjust our sleepwear when necessary.
Creating wonderful summer days together
With these measures, we ensure that children feel comfortable and can play safely, even when the temperature rises. We closely monitor weather conditions and temperatures during exceptionally hot days and adjust our program where necessary. This way, as a parent, you can rest assured that your child is in good hands, even during hot summer days.
